Our casual coir doormat is a classic design that stops dirt and sand right at the door. Made from durable natural coconut fibers, it's backed with PVC for added stability. Coir is best used in covered locations such as a porch, or indoors.
Q : Is this rug suitable for a dog owner? will it hold up to pet claws and will pet hair be easy to clean?
A : The coir material is quite durable and traditional, making it a good option for pet owners. While it can stop dirt and sand, pet hair might embed itself slightly in the woven fibers. We recommend using a brushless vacuum to clean it regularly. For pet accidents, it's best to blot up liquid spills immediately.
Q : How do i clean this rug if it gets dirty? can i wash it or just spot clean?
A : You should avoid washing this rug. Regular vacuuming with a brushless vacuum is recommended. For spills, blot them immediately with a clean, undyed cloth. For tougher stains, professional rug cleaning is advised.
Q : Will this rug shed over time, especially with regular foot traffic?
A : Coir is a natural fiber and may have some minor shedding initially, especially as it settles in. However, with regular use and proper care, it's generally quite durable and designed to withstand traffic. Rotating the rug periodically can help ensure more even wear.
Q : Is the material too rough to walk on barefoot, or is it reasonably comfortable?
A : The rug has a woven coir pile that is 0.59 inches thick. While it's made of natural fibers, many find it comfortable enough for barefoot use, especially in covered or indoor areas. The texture is characteristic of coir mats, offering a natural feel.
Q : Where is the best place to put this rug? would it work in a high-traffic entryway?
A : This rug is specifically designed to stop dirt and sand at the door, making it ideal for entryways, whether indoors or on a covered porch. Its durable coir construction can handle high-traffic areas well. It's important to note that it should not be exposed to direct or continuous sunlight.
Q : I noticed creases in the rug after unrolling it. will these go away on their own?
A : Yes, temporary creases from packing and shipping are common and usually flatten out within a week of being on the floor. To speed up the process, you can try back-rolling the rug before laying it down, then allow it to relax for ample time.
